With that sort of a budget I would not even look at AMD I would get the i5 4690k and a 970 depending on your budget.

AMD is good for a budget build. Is you want better performance I recommend an Intel processor. I had a low budget and got the AMD 8350 and it works really well. I hope to upgrade to an intel soon though. As to your question. I like your build and hope you like it.

AMD aren't good for budget builds. They were, until the mighty Pentium was released, now AM3+ is done completely. OP has a GTX 980 and FX-8320 so he could have easily afforded a decent i5 instead. FX-8320 is a wiser purchase than the 8350, since the 8350 is just a factory overclocked 8320.

OP-Meh, with a GTX 980, I would have expected a superior CPU but it's not a terrible build. You might as well try to hold out until Skylake now to upgrade to Intel and just hope it's not delayed. The case looks poo though.

depends on how much you spent on the CPU

Right, i'm going to get hate for this but poo it
The 8320 is still a great CPU, it will do everything you want out of it with ease. Everyone will say to get an Intel CPU but in all fairness, with how cheap AMD chips are becoming, you will get a good CPU and mobo for the price of an i5. Yes, the i5 will perform better in some applications but the 8320 will still do a good job.

As for AMD being obsolete in budget builds, I dare say I would take one over the G3258, the G3258 is amazing, but it just doesn't release the full potential of anything over a 280X/770. So say you get a 970/z97 board and a G3258, until you upgrade you will see reduced performance.
