I'm driving myself mad with upgrades on whether I should go ATX or uATX.

I'm going to be getting a decent pair of headphones for crimbo and I'd either need to buy a Dac/Amp to drive them so I was planning to get a motherboard with decent onboard sound..

I'm not upgrading my GPU,memory and Harddrives just case, motherboard and cpu.

Two options, I know the power supply is overkill but the G2 units are kick ass.

Whats your current specs? You could wait for SkyLake but that's gonna be quite a while

Both boards have the same onboard sound and are really similar boards except for stuff like more sata ports GA7 supporting 3 way xfire. so the only thing really to compare is the case and form factor and that mostly comes down to personal opinion oh and the price.

But wait for a more knowledgeable answer but I've covered pretty much all i could think of.

Personally, I wouldn't bother upgrading from your 3570k. R5>Arc Mini every time though.

Main reason is for the improved motherboard as my G43 is pretty basic for a z77 board, I also want some decent onboard audio to drive a pair of 250hmn headphones.

R5 is a good 20 more tho, I'm just not sure.

Meh, fair enough. I'd personally wait for Skylake but I suppose a motherboard upgrade for better audio is reason enough. If it were me, I'd pay a little extra for the R5, but I'm not a huge fan of the Arc Mini. If you like the Arc Mini and want to save some dolla, just go for that.

If you really can't decide, flip coin.

haha skylake will be mid 2015 which for me way too long. I'm in patient.

I've already ordered the i5 and powersupply now is the hard choice, luckily I'm selling the rest of the parts to my brother so it's not a total waste on upgrading.

F*ck it getting the R5
