Now A Few Days / Week ago. my ferret was happy running around jumping and stuff. Now he has gone to Being lazy trying to sleep allday. not being able to run properly. and he also runs for about 20seconds then falls over and lays there for around 5seconds? I Am really curious as to what this is and its heartbraking that I Have to see such a cute animal go through this. A Week ago we was able to "stroke him" and he would try to fight back asin try to play with us. Now when we stroke him he just lays there hopelessly. Please can someone help me! I Am Heartbroken for what i have seen from him the past few days?

A Couple of questions that me and my family have come up with!

1. Is He Just going through this winter stage?
2. Is He Just trying to be warm for winter?
3. What is wrong with him?
4. How Much Would it cost to go get him checked out at a VET?

Thank you TTG. I Hope some people on here have owned these animals before and could help me Even the littlest of information Could help!

A friend of mine used to have a ferret, and while I'm not an expert. I know a couple of things.

Ferrets are very lazy animals, if they are kept in a cage all day they will become very, very lazy.

I recommend letting it out and playing with it for more than two hours a day.

If it has a small cage, maybe get a bigger cage so it has more room. Also think about getting it something it can play with, such as balls with bells in them.

Sorry buddy I would be useless in this kind of situation but sorry to hear what you're going through. He could be fine in a while! Don't worry man, bring it to the vets to be on the safe side. It wasn't neutered was it?

My friend's got a Ferret, and they leave it in its cage all day because they can't be home all day to keep it in line.
I don't think your Ferret is going through anything right now, but if you're highly concerned, call your local vet and ask them a few questions, they shouldn't charge you for the call.

Thank you very much for commenting mate, it means alot! However the things you have suggested we have already done. like we have gotten him a small ball pit with a little slide that he goes down. And we have also made him a custom cage. we spent 2weeks making the cage before we went out and got him

we based the design on this :

and we also had chubes coming out from each one so they could run around more.

Go and see a vet.
Or he may just be feeling un well.
It could be something as simple as playing with him for an hour or two.

Take your ferret to the vet ASAP. This doesn't seem like normal animal behavior, this was happening to my cat a couple years ago and it turned out he had kidney stones. Might be different for you animal, but it's better to be safe than sorry.

Good luck dude, he/she will be fine!
