How's it going!
I'm looking to buy a new graphics card as my current one is starting to struggle playing some of the new releases. My current graphics card is the Asus GTX 750 TI.
(It has served me well in the time that I've had it, but I feel that it is time for an upgrade.)
My price budget is around $300/200.
Let me know if there are any good graphics cards out there in this budget.
Thanks!
Current Specs:
AMD FX 4300 Black Edition
8GB Corsair Vengeance
Asus GTX 750 TI
Gigabyte 970A-DS3P
500W PSU

What specific PSU is it? make and model.
You could do with a cpu upgrade to.
[ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
Get that, then sell you 750 ti and when you have a different budget for the GPU come back.
depending on your PSU you may need to upgrade that too.
if so - [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
If your not willing to do any of the upgrades i said, i would strongly suggest upping your budget by $30 and getting a GTX 970 which are the best cards right now for price to performance

Or you could wait for the new amd 3** cards to release which should be early 2015.

Hey thanks for the reply.
The PSU is a Tagen TG500-BZ 500W.
Say if I was to get the Gigabyte motherboard and i5 processor you recommended, how much better in performance would they be to what I have now?
And if I did get the i5 and Gigabyte motherboard, will I still be able to use my 750 TI in that system until I get a different graphics card?
Thanks.

It would make the build more balanced if you was to upgrade to a new CPU.
for example if you got the GTX 970 now the fx 4300 would not let the gtx 970 full-fill its full performing potential. But if you paired lets say the 4440 with the gtx 970 overall your going to get a lot better performance then a 4300 and a 970. Also the am3+ socket is practically dead now with no ideal upgrade path.
The 750ti isn't a bad card at least its not outdated, but it would help if you upgraded it.
I'm not too sure how much you would get for the 750ti if you was to sell it but lets say you got 80 that's like a good 170 for a new gpu. (would be looking at a gtx 760) And a gtx 760 and a i5 4440 would be a nice combo.
edit@ as for the PSU it will be compatible but I've never heard of Tagan so not sure how reliable it is. Wouldn't hurt to get the OCZ 550W full modular unit i linked.

Ok that sounds good.
What do you think of my PSU? Will I need to upgrade it?

Its discontinued at most/all shops.
Wouldn't hurt to get the OCZ 550W Full modular unit like i said for a relatively small price.

Oh yes I see it now.
Thanks for helping me with this.
I will most probably get the i5 and Gigabyte motherboard you recommended. As well as the PSU.
Thanks again
Before I go, apart from size.. what's the difference between a full board and a Micro ATX.

Each motherboard has a compatible form factor and that relies on your case's form factor.

Your choice whether to get the psu but i would recommend as the original one you have I've never heard of and looks like megatron(lots of leds) and looks cheaply made.
Also you will notice I've changed the board. There isn't really much difference except for the b85 having PCIe 3.0 but for a few dollars more why not?
edit@ as for the difference between the form factors there really isn't much difference, some ATX just offer more ports then Micro ATX.
Whats your case?

My case at the minute was just a cheap one that I ordered online. The PC was my first ever custom build hence why some parts are not as good.
I'm looking to get a new case though.I really like the CM Striker but they are way to expensive haha

full tower cases are completely unnecessary.
The CM n200 is a brilliant case and is cheap i would be getting that.
Or if you wanted a ATX case look at the nzxt h440/arc midi r2/fractal define r4 or r5/nzxt s340(good budget case)
