The people who you call 'assholes' are respected for a reason.

For example, people think that Asymmetrical is kind of an asshole, why? Because he says what he thinks, and won't lie to you to make you feel good. I have a very high respect for him as a member, and a man in life. Even though I don't personally know him.

Now, what members are you talking about?

The only members I can think of that pretty much everybody knows are the staff members, ImmortalGengar, TDK, JimboSlice, Famous_Energy, McNuggets and a few more. I don't think any of them are 'assholes'. They are very nice people, and great to talk to.

We all know this goes on and to be honest it is very immature. If a "respected" member is looking/talking down to another member then bring it to our attention so we can sort it out as soon as possible. One thing to think about, if a "Respected/Popular" user is acting like this then maybe you want to re think who you define as a respected member.

For anyone who goes into the Shout Box, it does have its trolls BUT we are nearly always there to keep them inline. Again just give a member off staff a nudge and we will sort the issue.

At the end of the day its still the Internet so dont take everything to serious.
The SB can be harsh sometimes to new members i agree on that.

I agree with that on the most part, but I have witnessed occasions where some members do act superior and talk down or not even take notice of other members talking to them. It's just one of those things, if they are like that then they aren't a respected member, by me at least anyway.

Having said that it's pretty good now days, like Katsumi said.

I haven't really met anybody like this yet. And as for the shout box thing i really enjoy the banter, i think its great, everybody knows its just a laugh, nobody means anything bad they say. Its just banter.

I completely agree, I used to love coming on here but now its not a community its like walking into a gang filled park, its just full of people who want to treat you like utter crap.

I agree with you to a certain extent, as will most people. There is the occasional member who does think they are better than others and do talk down to them, but pay them no heed... They do it solely for the attention they get

As for the Shoutbox... well that's just everyone's way of welcoming you to the SB... if you can past the trolls and the jokes upon entering, then you are good to go... as hilton said:

If you're not an everyday member of the shout box, the regulars in there are dicks pretty much all the time.

Respected members are just people who have either been here for a while, or are just generally known/active on the forums. They are no different than me or you.
