Too bland. Web design is based off of simplicity but a popping simplicity. I would highly suggest playing around with subtle texture patterns for backgrounds, placement and sizing of layers as well as the overall flow of the page.

Such as:

-Give more room in the header
-Give room between the nav bar and header
-Scroll gallery should be a main focus, bring it to the front (make it bigger)
-Use up some of that empty space with some more content
-Give more room in the footer

It's a decent start. Find the line between simple and minimal and you'll start to progress further.
