From my school in the UK, we had the option to have an iPad air if we payed 5 a month towards them for three years.

This is the contract that we had to sign to have them.

As long as you continue to pay for the device with the hopes of paying it off in the future, I see no reason as to why you wouldn't be able to jailbreak it. I would not go around saying that it is jailbroken though. Not until you have it paid off at least.

Yeah I suppose, but I think they said they will go round at some point and inspect and check the system.

Perhaps there is a way to hide Cydia or something?

Thanks,

I wouldn't recommend jailbreaking the ipad if it truly isn't yours. Like just in case something bad happens, like apps crashing, or something like that happens by accident. But if you are, just restore the device whenever you have a device checkup or something.

Being a school Ipad they receive all apps download history and all web searches..

Our school gave out free ipads for use as well basically same deal as yours $5 a month for usage and with an option of keeping them

But some kid was looking up guns on it while at home and got in trouble for it at school because they could view his search history..

Long story short they can see what you're doing.
