I cant even play steam, what is the motive for these guys? Whats the point in not letting millions of people play video games?

But it does get ddosed, valve even openly admitted that they were getting ddosed when steam was randomly going down quite a bit a couple (maybe few?) weeks ago.

But with steam they don't go fully down as they don't suffer from a centralized login server such as Microsoft or PSN which for unknown reason they still use.

steam is better defended from ddos' solely because it's dedicated to PC gaming, It's been attacked a lot more than xbox live and psn so they've had time to build up their defenses.
