Okay so I got the 13.3 inch macbook pro with retina display, and on the apple website it states:
"Up to 9 hours wireless web
Up to 9 hours iTunes movie playback
Up to 30 days standby time
Built-in 71.8-watt-hour lithium-polymer
battery
60W MagSafe 2 Power Adapter with cable management system; MagSafe 2 power port"
So far after 3 charges up to 100% and being left on the charge over night it still runs down very quickly, I got up around 25-30 minutes ago and i currently have lost 13% what can I do to allow my battery to last longer? All i really do is use the internet...

There any many things that could be killing your battery! Screen brightness, programmes running etc. I would try closing down everything you're not using and turning down the screen brightness. Apple's test were probably done with the brightness on like 1% and using one programme!

Ah I see, I had 5 tabs on google chrome opened, and I had the brightness at full, I assumed this is how they tested it, bunch of bastards, thanks though!

No problem! Remember though the Macbook Pro isn't really meant for browsing! It's for like photo-editing and all that shizzle!

Why did you get a MacBook pro?
My brother has a printing business and he does
video editing, and he has a shitty 100 GBP one he got off eBay.

because unlike most laptops they are long lasting, i can't keep a standard laptop any longer than 3 years because they usually slow down, break easily and the battery is usually useless from day one, as well as the fact I don't really know my way around a macbook so it'll take me longer to do stupid tweaks before i break it too lol

You need to charge it too 100 and let it run out off battery all the way to 0% a couple of times. This will in some cases expand the battery in a way. Do you have it on charge a lot of the time? Also turn down screen brightness ect.

The post above mine is correct, batteries do seem to last longer if you run them down and fully recharge while they are off.

Also yes, the brightness on the laptop and Chrome will drain the battery. Safari is much better with battery optimisation on the latest version of OSX. Its just the way Chrome is coded, if you use it and feel how hot the laptop gets, thats an indication that its using as much horsepower it can.

Also have you or do you torrent on your system?

I've recently got the one without retina display, and the battery is decent. If you charge till 100% and then let it run down its better. Also don't leave it to charge over night as that can ruin the batterys life.
