Aircraft are tested to the factor or safety (1.5) this is 5 times the stress that an aircraft would get when flying. However, as seen in the past it takes little to bring an aircraft down, weather its blocked static/pito tubes, or pilot error, no one knows as of now.

At least it wasn't Malaysian Airlines again, I'm not hugely surprised by this taking into account that 1000s upon 1000s of aircraft fly each day. All I can say is I hope they're safe.

With our technology these days, No plane in any part of the world should be lost track of
