This isn't exactly a PC question, however there wasn't a more appropriate forum.
So when I am wired straight to my router, I get upwards of 70mbps down and up. But, on wireless I only get about 10. I understand that on wireless you will get less speed, but that is a pretty drastic decrease.
Is there anything that could cause this?

What's your os? And also, it may be your hardware (which is why I asked for your OS). If you're on Windows go to the task manager and by right clicking the home key and then head over to networking and then check your Link speed. If it says 100% then that's all you can handle. Which mine says how much it can handle which is 56mb/s.

Few causes
Interference
Faulty/dying hardware
Router or adapter is cheap crap
poor router placement, shoving it on the floor or in the corner of your house will cause poor range.
Diagnosing wireless signal issues is a horrible process but the main things to do is position the router in a central place in the house away from electrical devices such as cordless phones, TVs, microwaves etc. Change the wireless channel it operates on as other routers in the area on the same channel will effect your performance.
