Well the word jtag means the lead from a printer.

Therefore whoever invented the printer invited the jtag.

and yes jtag have been out since 1995

i had i jtaged direc tv box

it unlocked all channels including porn yay

and all ppv for free lol but got patched in 2003

direct tv demanded everybody to send in there box for a new one or service was termanted
and they did what ms did and fried out e fuses end of free ppv and porn

Nope. It stands for Joint Test Action Group and was originally used for testing printed circuit boards.

OP is also wrong. It was a group formed by one, Harry Wardrop and had no relation to hacking.
