My whole life I have always been in the section of being classed as 'less fortunate' by other people. I personally love the way I live. I have a loving, caring family and that's all I want. I always go out with my friends who are far off better than my family I mean there parents must earn 60/70K a year, whereas mine earns just over 10K a year (used to be MUCH lower than that). I am always the one who gives my hard earned money to homeless people and charity shops I've done lots of voluntary work, I have not seen them lift a finger to someone who's struggling, all they care about is themselves. My rant isn't about just my friends, it's about all those people who have spare money around, it's never 'spare money' that 'spare money' could make someone else's a little more bearable.

Anyways, rant/over.

To be fair if I work for my money its my money, I dont need to give it to homeless people. Im not rich by any means, but just because someone doesnt hand money out to those who are homeless doesnt mean they only think about themselves... It just means they dont wanna give a homeless dude money.

If I dont give money to an animal charity, does that mean I dont like animals?

Most homeless people spend their money on drugs or alcohol, I mean thats how most of them are homeless. And if you have spare money why should you give it all to them? why not treat some people in your family to something that you have worked hard to earn. Good things come to those who work hard.

Ehm, but you can't really be upset at people who "have spare money laying around"... They earned their money, just like you do. It's your decision whether to be giving or not, but you can't really get mad because people choose not to fund someone else's habits. I work hard for my money, and even though I do give a little every now and then, I don't make it a priority to give every homeless man I see $5 or $10. I can also use it for things.

Hard earned cash is different, I am on about those people who thrive off there parents money. If you choose not to give money to a animal charity, that's your choice, however if you are living off your parents money on a rather high income with a rather high 'waste' money I don't see why a couple of dollars wouldn't be so bad.

I don't think people are saying you are socially, politically, or any other freedom wise less fortunate than "others". the definition of the term "fortunate" deals with, quite literally, proprietary and wealth assets when being applied to an economic sphere (which in the case of America, people do quite often). When people say "you are less fortunate", they are saying that you are not as economically sound as others are. You may be content with that and that's great but in the most literal sense they are referring to your economic situation in a subjective and unbiased manner. (at least that's what my experience/education has shown me) <3

Easy solution to that, don't give them money buy them something instead. Sometimes when i go to McDonalds or somewhere to eat sometimes ill decide to get a homeless person something like a burger. I know its not much but i'm a student and don't earn a lot of money at all but if i have a spare bit then why not.
