I have just finished building my pc, i went to install windows 8.1 but when it came to selecting a hard drive to install it onto it did not show up. I went into the BIOS to see if it was found and nothing is there. Any help?

Have you made sure the the Sata data and power connectors are in tight on both ends?

Can you hear the HDD spin up?

Try a different cable or switch the cable around, the cable connecting the HDD to the motherboard that is. Also I just thought, do you have power connected to it AND the data cable?

If the drive is correctly plugged in, there is no fix for it.

Ensure both ends of the power connector is plugged in if your power supply is modular.
