I wouldn't want people to get their hopes up about the deal (particularly with FFP) but if we can work around the system a little, maybe there's a small chance still

How can we comply with financial fair play after spending 200 million? We made 20mil last season, so we can afford maybe to spend 40-50mil max. I don't think 200million plus the immense wages are realistic at all. Even if Messi wants to leave.

I read somewhere that a large player sale might make it more viable (although that's not something I'd consider). I don't know a great deal about the way in which FFP restricts finances so can't give an educated scenario in which FFP isn't violated - still don't think it'll get that far; manager'll be gone before he is

There is literally no way around it than waiting for his contract to expire (2018) unless he Mutually Terminates his contract which i don't see happening, lets all face it, Messi will be a Barcelona player till at least 2018, and he probably wont even leave then

You dont pay that 200m off straight away though , You spread the cost over the amount of time he has a contract , He will bring a huge amount of revenue to the club and we can offload so many players (Wage bill) and prices of getting rid of them + We are still in profit from last year + if messi comes then atleast 2-3 players would leave (Andre / william for example which goes straight onto FFP and is not split over a X amount of time)

If we really wanted messi and Barca could not keep him , We would get him.

As i keep saying though that doesent mean ill think itll happen

It's just rumors. The only thing that sparked this was Messi following Chelsea on IG. I don't see it as a big deal.

As a Barcelona fan, I can say truthfully that I don't think he's going anywhere.

Why would barcelona let messi go anyway?

They have a transfer ban plus even if chelsea had the money just why would they accept it?

The only logical reason I see if barca fall apart and enrique leaves, he's under increasing pressure atm

Best player to grace the earth along with CR7

Messi is getting fed up of spain (Tax problems / with the law) , He is annoyed with the manager , The barca board are a shambles right now , The team that won almost every trophy is being deconstructed (Puyol , Xavi , Iniesta)

then theres the reasons to join chelsea..

This is why I support a lower league team. It's less about the money and more about the sport.

Imagine how strong Chelsea will be.
But I don't see this happening, only a rumour which will turn out to be false
