rot wrote The 4690 is locked, it can't be overclocked. If you're getting a locked CPU, there is no need for a Z97 chipset board or a CPU cooler. If you decide on a locked CPU, get the 4460 and a H97 board and just use stock cooler. Otherwise, get rid of the 4690 and get a 4690k.

Thats the CPU.

If you have a noicee motherboard, there is normally a button that you press that OC's for you if you want to be really lazy.

If not, its a matter of pressing a few buttons in the BIOS and your good to go [in theory]

If you don't know what overclocking is, why did you want a Z series board an "k" class i7? If you aren't bothered about OCing, you could get this instead;

since you stated that the system will also be used for editing/rendering. Replace the SSD with an HDD if you'd prefer more storage.

The Xeon is 4C/8T so beneficial in editing/rendering. However, if you want the option to overclock, get this;

Pick up another HDD or an SSD when you have a bit more cash.

Ew. Get rid of that PSU, you need a new one. Sounds like one of your connections may have become a little loose or something.
