Because of the benchmarks and cooling performance.

The performance is unrivaled, it overclocks like a champ too

The cooling isn't bad but it's surpassed by the MSI and GB lineup, sadly.

So, if this were your money which would you get?

And no I don't want a 970

Specs:

4790k
Vii Hero
850w G2 Supernova

Oh yes, I was concerned that the weight of that galax card would cause flexing. Is that likely to be a reality?

Get what you want the difference in performance is minimal tbh the G1 is the best as far as I can see for the price, That one is great if you want a white card.

The best is the cheapest really. Unless you're going for a themed build in which case get the one that suits best!
