i got caught stealing a flash drive from walmart and i was 15 at the time they took me in a room with police and asked me questions never put me in cuffs and never got fined but they told me that i could be sewed triple the amount of merchandise but i paid for it? i never went to court or got any letter like that so would this be considered convicted of a crime? cause i don't want to check off NO on my app. but have them backround check me and have that show up

i would appreciate it if somebody asked their family members if they are a police officer or something like that thank you

Convicted would mean that you were proven guilty of the crime, and you will serve time and/or pay a fine along with the time served. So no, you haven't been convicted of the crime. You were more or less just scared straight.

EDIT: Also, anything that you are convicted of before you are 18 is sealed away and only higher up people are able to look at it...For example, anyone doing a background search on you will get nothing back unless they are police or higher up than that.

you should be fine man, I dont think that it went on any records being that the police didnt do anything but question you.

Ive had friends on house arrest for stealing 200 dollars worth of stuff once, they are employed.

Okay so if you never went to jail and or court for this you're fine. You could even get a few felonies, and if you're under the age of 16 when you did that it doesn't go on your permanent record, it gets wiped and no one can access it not even the military. I know from exp....

Nah, it's not. If they only asked you questions and it was never a proper case. I don't think so..

don't worry, your lucky pal, you didn't get convicted, if you went to prison or to court then that would be 'convicted'

Not sure how it works in the US, but here in the UK that would not count as a crime, as you weren't arrested and/or charged & since you were under 16 at the time it Would not go on your permanent record, so I would tick no.

If you were never charged then it will not come up on a certain record.
