Recently my pc has been blue screening. And I thought the temp might be causing it so when I checked it, it was over 100. I haven't changed the thermal paste since I bought the pc 3ish years ago. So I bought the paste today and added it and bought another fan for my pc but now the temps are reaching over 140-150f. I can barely boot my pc because it's overheating so bad. Anyone know why it's getting so hot? (Might be some typos because I'm on my phone)

150F is about 65C and whether this could cause instability depends on your CPU. 65C is very hot and near TJ max for some AMD CPUs which run cooler, but well within spec for others.

I'd suggest checking your compound.
I'm not to sure but it's worth a look.

Check and see if the fan has any dust around it. If so wipe it

Ivy Bridge CPUs have a TJ max of 105C, which is 221F. It's not overheating.

It means thermal paste, but you already applied some. Make sure you get high quality stuff though.
