I am big into diesel's (Cummins FTW)and I will personally say we haul hay, cattle, horses, farm equipment etc. on the daily basis with my buddys old 7.3 with 463,xxx miles truck still running like a top. I personally think it's a great trade.

I don't plan on hauling much besides some quads, firewood, stuff like that. Gotta haul the quads out of this suburban area to ride. I miss having 20+ acres.

Yeah it's nice. Especially bring my insurance down since I'm 16. Plan on using it as a daily driver to school and such, and probably to haul quads out to ride them. Probably doing the trade this Saturday.

Point I was attempting to make though is that the mileage means nothing my friends speaking about diesels that is. It does when it comes to minor repairs, *to me their minor that is.

Something doesn't sound right. If it is legit then that is a hell of a deal, the 7.3L has been deemed the "indestructible" engine. Diesels don't really break in until 200k miles, it should be fine until 300-400k. I think something is majorly wrong with that truck if he is doing a straight trade for your car.

As Long as the truck is mechanically stable then I myself would do the deal. The 7.3 is one of fords most desirable motor. Is it a turbo diesel? The turbo diesels hold higher value over the non turbo diesel. But non turbo still has a demand. Now in terms of miles 160k on the 7.3 is like 40-50k on a gas engine. The 7.3 will last forever.

Seems fishy.. That engine will go unitl 300k miles atleast. Somethings wrong with that truck if hes wanting a straight trade. BE careful op.

All im going to say is though repairs on a 3000GT is a pretty penny, if I ever had one I would never get rid of it. That thing has such fantastic potential for a gnarly drift spec mod.
