Clones wroteWoodkid wroteIf we're gonna be changing a religious book, then we might as well change all of them that contains violence about non believers.Methylamine wroteIm not even going to flame anymore... If you want to hate Muslims, that's your choice. It's just ignorant to call the Muslim group as a whole, bad, if only 1-2% of them are extremist.
We could say the same about Americans. We enslaved millions of blacks and then continued to rape, beat, and kill them for about 250 years. So this must mean that all Americans are savages.
I'm almost certain I already said that not all Muslims are bad.
Scratch that, I'm certain:
I'm not saying all Muslims are like this, I'm saying that it's more than just a few of them who agree with the murderous punishments for crimes in the Quran...
I've also already said that 1% of Muslims is still 16 million people.
I don't hate Muslims, I think the Quran needs to be changed. If that offends some Muslims, so be it.
It's their own holy book which is being used to justify murder.
Also, I thought that before/during the First Crusade, nonbelievers of Islam only had to pay an extra tax? They didn't kill them, try to convert them, etc.
Christianity, on the other hand...
I'm all for changing every holy book which is followed by a large majority of people which is used to justify violence.
The Quran just happens to be the one we're discussing.
What Muslims and Christians did hundreds of years ago is irrelevant to what they're doing today.
[It seems like you're trying to say that we should be condemning Christianity here instead of Islam, or both equally.]
and I do condemn almost all Religions equally, just not in this conversation because we're talking about Islam.

Craigyy wrote I don't think world peace is even possible..
Or at least not when religions exist. The main cause of it all is religion.
I understand what you mean I am agnostic but even if there was not religion we would find something to fight.

I mean no offence but the fact remains that in this day and age 99% of all terrorist attacks are committed by Muslims (FACT).
Moderate Muslims do little to help change peoples opinions of Islam on the whole.
A stray American rocket hits a village somewhere in the middle east and kills a family of four and we get thousands of Muslims on our streets burning our flags and chanting hate towards the west..
But
When it is people committing mass murder or other heinous crimes in the name of Islam ,We don't see any Muslims on our streets in protest.
Like it or loathe it , It is this attitude that causes many people to not only distrust what Moderate Muslims say but it also causes a lot of people to tar all Muslims with the same brush.
Like the old saying goes ..
Not all Pit bulls will bite you but the whole breed is still considered to be dangerous.
Blessed be..

It's a religion, not a race, millions of Muslims protest against terrorist attacks every year, and the ones who are actually from the Middle-East are probably too afraid to go out and join in the protests because others will target them as an enemy for being a part of the same religion...
If you were Islam, and a terrorist attack happened on American soil, and a protest broke out, you'd probably be afraid to join too because people would target you for something you didn't actually do because of their blind and misplaced hatred on an entire religion just because of the acts of only a few people... You just said most of the terrorist attacks have been performed by Muslims, that right there is reason enough for people from that religion to not go near you, because they would be afraid that you'd bring harm to them for something they didn't do, or support... I'm friends with many Muslims, in America, who live all around me, and even they are afraid of what other Americans will do to them because even though they did nothing wrong, they are part of that religion.
If we actually focused on the extremists only, instead of the religion itself, maybe they'd join in and protest with us against the real enemy. So please don't place your hatred on a religion, place it on the extremists who use their religion as a weapon... Or no Islamic people will ever help us protest because like I said, they'll be afraid of the retaliation even though they did nothing wrong...

But I do observe..
To be honest we would ALL be better off if there was no religion!.

MDA wrote I wish that the world would somehow became peaceful, but I don't think that we will ever see that happening..It won't ever happen, for example the terror threats that are happening won't ever stop because we don't follow their religion, and unless we do, it'll always be there in the world.
