Okay, so I had an update for my computer and when it restarted my controller didn't work. I didn't try to plug and unplug yet because it's hard to reach with my desk. Is there a way to scan for devices or something to help fix my issue?

I'm not sure if this will help you but give it a shot anyways.
Go to your device manager on your PC, and if there is something listed as unknown with a tiny yellow triangle next to it right-click it, update the software, browse your PC, click "Let me pick from a list of devices on my computer", then scroll down to Xbox 360 Peripherals, and click on the Xbox 360 Controller on the list of options. After you do that the controller should be connected just fine.
