Mate, I received three months of gold for winning the Halloween costume contest back in October and that's how I am gold right now.

I have never bought gold, but have been gifted roughly 25 times or so. I have been gifted by helping out members with simple questions like, "How do I see the site ranks?" and for more difficult problems they might have. Just post some quality posts and you'll get gifted soon enough.

It depends how hard it is..

If you do alot for the community someone will gift you

If you do nothing but post random stuff no one will gift you ;)

took me 3 years before I got my first Gold
however I am on my 6th Month of having it because I help out in the PC forums a lot with useful answers. You don't simply get Gold, you gotta earn it.

Just quit trying to make people feel sorry for you and help out be active

Same boat, 2 years it took me to get gifted.

Help out, get known and don't ask for it.

It's a great feeling when you get gifted for the first time so hang in there.

Me personally, I Gift people who are active, help out other members &/or contribute to the site(other Gold gifters etc).

Others are different, some gift purely for the badge, entering Gold giveaways is the easiest way, or just stay active and help members & eventually someone will notice.

I myself have never been gifted gold & I've been here almost 4 years.

This is true, I have been so active on TTG and I got gifted.
You just need to be active and help the community.

Lets all be honest though, if you really wanted it that much, buy it...

Not like it's expensive is it.
