Let me start off by saying that I love TTG and its one of the only gaming communities that I'm active on and I'm glad to see so many people come together and talk about the games we love, new things we learned, and cool things we've done. Don't get me wrong the majority of this site is very active, but there are the dark, deeper parts that few seem to venture to. I am sad to see this because I don't want a new generation of gamers to come in and see that these games are dead. Some of the sections on TTG have very little activity or just spam, and I don't know why that is and I will show you a few examples:

*These are in no specific order*

Forums/f=169/battlefield-forum.html -- Good game, section filled with people looking to team up, which is fine, but there is no real discussion/support for the game itself

Forums/f=342/destiny-forum.html -- I love this game, but why is EVERY post about looking for a raid/strike fireteam? There used to be a sticky that allowed people to post for a team but it was still never used

Forums/f=172/gears-of-war-forum.html -- Active but not enough. Last topic post on Dec. 10

Forums/f=299/halo-forum.html -- Great game, but the topics only about custom games or missions. Most people aren't even using the sticky thread.

Forums/f=250/minecraft-console-forum.html -- Hunger games or a survival world, thats it, really.

Forums/f=341/titanfall-forum.html and Forums/f=350/watch_dogs-forum.html -- I'm gonna merge these together because I think these games were over-hyped and now they receive little to no support. I mean if you're still playing these games I would suggest trying a different game.(Take a look at the section, nobody plays these games)

Forums/f=87/call-of-duty-modern-w...forum.html -- Classic game, people still post about modded lobbies in here. Really?

Forums/f=357/dayz-forum.html -- Majority of posts are people looking to join up, but nobody posts in the Sticky thread. If they did we could filter out the spam.

Forums/f=230/minecraft-pc-forum.html -- Server advertising everywhere.

Forums/f=280/video-editing-forum.html -- Rate my edit section

Forums/f=123/youtube-forum.html -- Sub my channel, like my videos

Forums/f=5/jokes-funny-stuff.html -- There is some funny stuff here, but everyone posts their jokes in the general discussion section. Annoys me.

There are some other dead/spammed sections on TTG but I didn't list them, but you get the point. Either we need a revival of these sections or tell people to start posting in the stickies and bring back the real discussions about the games that this site was meant for (don't tell me this site was made for modded lobbies).

Discuss...

/Rant

If you want to format this topic better I'll rep you 100

I understand what you are saying and I do have to agree to a certain point. I am not quite sure they need to revamp these forums. But I do think people should be using the stickies as asked. I do not think the site is dead though. I think the modded lobbies and such if not put in the correct sticky (if there is one) should be reported. But I think this site is well and alive I can sit on here for hours reading and learning new things everyday. This site has a lot to offer.

The site as a whole is very active I just believe that those certain sections need to be looked over because they are inactive and filled with spam.

I completely understand why you'd be frustrated about that, because of your personal interest towards these games.

However, there are forums there for specific games and other technology, that don't get used. Take for example the Destiny forum. It is there, and as easily accessible as every other forum on the site, but it doesn't get much attention.

If it already didn't get much attention or activity, why would you expand on it and take up more space and bandwidth, to essentially create a more spread out blank space?

This site, like pretty much every other site out there (forum and non) bases it's content on what the general userbase and the site as a whole calls for.

I would be willing to bet that if the "dead," forums were to become more active, and get to the point where more coverage was needed, that it would be supplied.

That is true, staff have been talking about removing, overhauling, and doing away with pointless sections and things like that when v5 is released. Guess we just have to sit back and watch for now.
