Just get 2 980s and SLI them.

Or if you wanted you could get a big ssd to store games on it, but as it stands you really will only benefit in upgrading your GPU, although you could get a new i7 such as the 4790k as well as the gtx 980s then you'd be on the budget you set.

However you could get this

and another 780ti. Its just up to you, both options are good, but in terms of getting more for your money id get the 780ti along side that monitor, and you still have money left over to get that i7 if you wish.

I was thinking just to get 3 1080 monitors and display it on all 3 of them that is what i thought 4k gaming was tbh.

few options:
1) X99 for shits and giggles
2) 2 980's and a 4K monitor
3) keep as is and invest in something else, you don't need an upgrade but you want it. That $1500 could be used for something more useful.

What do you hope to gain from the upgrades? For gaming and editing an upgrade isn't worth it, and i'd only spend a little bit on changing bits to what you really like. For example if you wanted to make a really small silent system.

The system doesn't really need upgrading, personally I'd save it and wait till late 2015 when skylake is released. but if you was to upgrade now then what terrabytez said^ or even put in a AIO such as the NZXT Kraken X61 purely for looks and a tad better performance. Your case would have to be able to support it though.

with a 780Ti, and recording you should not be dropping below 200fps on MC....
plus, streaming is dependent on internet speeds, not hardware
