my build-
i5 4670k
EVGA GTX 760 2gb
MSI Motherboard
8gb of cosiar ram
1tb WD Blue Hard Drive
Cosair 750m Power supply
Cosair 200r Case

Im look to upgrade my gpu, and need your guys second opinion! I have under under 500$ and I'm cheap, right now I'm looking at the Sapphire R9 290X 4GB, or the Sapphire Radeon Tri-X R9 290X OC 4GB GDDR5 PCI-E, or maybe the ASUS ROG POSEIDON-GTX780-P-3GD5 Graphics Card. I dont know which one to get, I really dont want the GTX 970 because I can just get a r9 290 or a r9 290x and it preforms just as good. So I need your opinions on what I should upgrade to.

Personally I'd wait for the New AMD 3** GPUs to be released.

GTX970 is better than a 290X or that Poseidon 780.

If you can stretch a bit like and extra $40 or so you could grab an GTX 980 if not then grab a GTX 970.

Like Buxtyy said the 970 performs better than the r9 290x, is cheaper, newer and more power efficient.

hey

i would go with the GTX 780 just because it is more efficient and on reviews a lot of people have said that the 290's and 290x's get very hot and to keep them cool the fans have to work a lot harder making for a very loud system. however i believe that 290's and 290x' do have better performance.

They are all good to be honest, whichever one you think looks cooler or is cheaper.

If going with Evga only choose SSC or FTW+ models the early ones blow.

Best GPU in terms of overclocking is the windforce.
