Thanks for reading, I am going to buy a newer GPU, but the better ones always say they're PCIe 3.0...
I'm aiming for an atx motherboard, so if someone would like to pick a Motherboard with compatible CPU that'd be epic.
I currently have an FX-4300 amd processor, and if you could find a motherboard that has pcie 3.0 w/ am3+ socket, that'd be great! I also have RAM thats 1333, i would like to keep that ram than buy more, but i guess i could if it's needed.
my budget -- Motherboard i would like it to be 150-250. thanks!

There is one PCIe3.0 AM3+ board and its because the processors don't support PCIe3.0. You're stuck with PCIe2.0 on AM3+ im afraid

You could upgrade to Intel though, potentially. What is your currency? What are your current specs, including case and PSU, make and model?

3.0 is backwards-compatible with 2.0 because it's just a bandwidth increase. There will be no difference in performance and you can use a 3.0 card with a 2.0 board with no negative effect.

$250 for each part isn't really a budget since you don't know what should be upgraded. Have you already ordered that case? If so, I'd return it if possible. mATX or ATX motherboard will look odd in a full sized case and there's no way you need a full sized case anyway. I'd suggest upgrading your monitor to at least a 1080p panel. You could also add an SSD. I'd upgrade to Intel, an i5 would do fine and upgrade that GPU for sure.

I was going to buy the case today, but you're right. I have a monitor that i just bought (Pavilion 22bw)
Budget - 400-500$ ( i'd probably need a new case as my current case is a Raidmax Horus and i'd like to connect two GPUs if needed, so space would be a factor )

$15 over budget before rebates. You could do better but you wanted components that will support a 2nd GPU, this way you can add another 280 in XFire in the future if you wish.
Thanks, Appreciate it!
