So I got my tax returns and I reckon it's time for me to upgrade from a gaming laptop (i7, 8GB RAM, dual GT 650M SLI) to a good desktop. I was looking at ibuypower but thats way too much money, and building my own computer would be awesome.
Now, onto how much I'll be spending. I want to spend at least $750-800, and be able to run most games.
I prefer Intel and Nivida graphics cards over AMD, but if it saves me money, then I'll go with AMD.
Thank you all very much

You have to be a little more specific on what you need!
Do you need any of the following and are you going to overclock?
Keyboard
Mouse
Monitor
OS
Mousepad

Overclock GPU if you wish, it will be more beneficial in gaming than overclocking CPU. CPU overclocking is over-hyped anyway and costs a lot more than it's worth IMO. Here;

Add an SSD when you can. You could grab a 1TB HDD and 4GB RAM or a slightly cheaper GPU instead to get an SSD straight away, but I'd probably just get that and add a good SSD when you have the money.

You know you goofed, right? Unlocked CPU on a B85 motherboard with a budget cooler? Total waste. PSU is bad. N200 is better than S210. No need to spend an extra $10 on RAM, it's unnecessary.

On some, yes. Is it worth it? No. Temperatures can becoming easily unstable and even f you do manage to successfully, it will be mediocre at best. Pretty sure Intel can patch it and they may already have done so. Regardless, PSU is bad, N200 is better than S210 and no reason whatsoever to waste money on RAM.
