OP said in his last thread that he needed a monitor, which is why I suggested a rig with a monitor to him. I never suggested a rig with a monitor on this thread. I told OP that there was no need for multiple threads and I already gave him a good build. The build I suggested above will be fine if he doesn't need a monitor. Seagate HDD's are fine. If you're going to argue that WD drives are significantly better, prove it. I have always owned Seagate HDD's and never had one fail on me.

Sanctyy wrote Are you dizzy? I'll have what you're smoking. If you can go ahead and prove to me that the motherboard will make any difference in gaming, that'd be swell. Otherwise, stop talking shit. That 1TB Caviar Blue drive is no better than the 2TB Barracuda. Stop pretending like WD are the only HDD manufacturer out there, Seagate make perfectly good HDDs. OP said in his last thread that he needed a monitor. The PSU you suggested is worse than the one I suggested.

If op has $1000 and doesn't need any peripherals, this would be better;

[ Register or Signin to view external links. ] i would rather have 3% failure rate than a 15% failure rate drive and micro motherboard suck if your putting in a decent graphics card your more than likely ganna have coil wind in your sound ive delt with that issue on a micro board before and that motherboard just has lots of more features like sli support for future upgrades

I agree, all the hate around Seagate only makes me happy because they're usually cheaper

All in all, the Brand shouldn't matter. WDs are JUST AS LIKELY to fail as a Seagate.

OT : Sanctyy's build looks good, when the game comes out test the FPS and adjust setting accordingly.

"ganna have coil wind in your sound"
lol'd.

That's a nope. mATX is perfectly fine. The motherboard you suggested will make no performance difference whatsoever. I'm going to call bullshit on that article straight away. 0.8 years for a Barracuda? Lol, no. I owned a 1TB Barracuda for 4+ years with no issues and I have owned my 2TB Barracuda for almost a year with no issues. I've used Barracuda's in other rigs, and had family/friends use Barracuda's with no issues.

It's going to, not "ganna". Also, it's coil whine, not "wind". You've had an issue with an mATX board and ATX board, that points towards another component, not the motherboard. Coil whine typically comes from a GPU anyway.

1) it's coil whine, not coil wind
2) 980 with coil whine, RMA that shit instead of just leaving it there...
3) how the hell can you get coil whine on a motherboard?
4) obvious WD fanboy is obvious. let me just get my Hitachi drive, my friends Seagate drive and a 8 year old seagate drive of mine and see if it makes you throw up.
5) MATX is bad ass, i'd hate to see your reaction to a MITX rig that shits on your PC...
6) you are a weeb.

lol my pc was auto correcting it to wind for some reason i recommend wd based on facts not cause i like them more find me somewhere that proves that seagate is a decent hdd and i might change my mind i have nothing against matx bessides the fact that ive used them in the past and had issues so i switched to atx board and no issues since until i slied the coil whine emf or some bs from the gpu gets it the sound and its annoying asf dont talk about a subject you have no idea wtf your talking about ive experienced the issue twice and have a useless gtx 980 im giving away cause of it

I lol'ed so hard st some of the replies on this topic.

Coil whine is caused by the vibration of a capacitor and can happen on many devices. Most common in PSU's and GPU's. They take a while to find the exact location so people may think its one device when it could be another. The only real way to find out is to take out what you think is chasing it and see if it goes away.

Some vendors don't take back RMA requests to do with coil whine since its not actually a fault with the card. If you get one, you can try to send it back or live with it.

Buying a consumer HDD based on failuar rates is about as stupid as it gets. Consumer drives arevwhat it says on the tin, and are not made for good fail rates. If your that worried, get a bunch of WD reds in raid 10 and shh about it. Get what ever is cheapest of the function you want.

Useless 980 because of coil whine :stupid: 1234((
