I am building a gaming PC. I have a budget of about 650$ without a keyboard, mouse, or
monitor

This I think would be better for gaming especially cpu intensive games

Personally, I'd rather have the SSD and extra storage with the i3, but up to you.

Faster read/write speeds. Use an SSD for your OS for faster boot times and use the remaining space for your favourite games.

Would look better, but I'd personally take the extra storage, better PSU and better GPU cooler over a little extra CPU power any day.

OP- If you could go a little over budget, make a compromise;

You get the i5, but less storage and a lesser performing SSD(still good though). You could get that and drop the SSD, spend the extra on a 2TB HDD instead and add a better SSD in the future.

Someone said that the g3258 was better then the i3 should i use that
