All in the title really.

Not too sure on the budget, it all relys on if i get this apprenticeship i hope to get but probably somewhere in the region of 1.5k - 2k GBP

I know insurance is a bomb for your first year so was wondering if people could come up with a few cars that would be low'ish on insurance.

Like the Looks of the VW GOLF but im aware if it has GTI/TDI etc.. insurance is going to blow a big hole in your pocket.

I know a lot of people get a corsa for there first car but im not too keen tbh.

Currently 19 myself from Newcastle ive drove/rode since 16.
VDUB (GOLF) is a big no go on first car
Unless you have deep pockets TDI (Turbo disel Injection) is heavy on insurance because its Turbo obviously.
Ive got a corsa 1.6 petrol and its 900 thats using my 2years bikes no claims
Heavily modified aswel and all declared on insurance pics below if i can attach doc.
Go for a 1Litre 1.2
Insurance depends on your area and car rate
For me because im in a city its expensive
But if i lived in a town it would be 600, 300 cheaper

They makes golfs even back to the MK1 that are 1.4L and Caddys to 1.6L. Corsa's will generally be high due to the fact those who own them. Typical boy racer, chavy kids with big exhausts and terrible subs.

Best bet is a MK4 1.4L. Cheap cars to buy and not to bad on insurance also plenty of room for modifications if you decide to go down that route.

Hit up your local gumtree or addtrader find a few cars, grab their plate and then get some quotes on comparison sites. If you're not old enough just edit your details a little.

I got a Citroen Saxo mk1 1.1 for my first.

Its the cheapest car for insurance for me and my dad.

Cost 360GBP to buy and about 170GBP to make it running well and to keep it maintained.

Best thing to do is just do insurance quotes.

Depends how much you earn.

If im right, the current cheapest car to insure in the UK is a KA. But if you want friends, id stick with a more manly car ;)

I'm doing an apprenticeship and there is no way that I can afford to have a car. Though, im on the minimum apprenticeship wage. People like Craigyy has a car and he too has an apprenticeship.

Good luck :2thumbsup:

Yeah unfortunately i do have friends , thinking about the Golf Vox suggested. The apprenticeship (if i do hopefully get it) is 270 pounds a week so its good pay tbh. Gotta do this video interview thing(im shitting it), its like i have to answer these questions and record myself answering them.

and thanks mate

Insurance group 2 mine is so it's virtually as cheap as you are gonna get. plus they are super cheap to insure after a few years and you can also get them on classic insurance, which is cheaper still.
