Ok to start this off. I did not drop out, and this is NOT A RANT! Now that we've gotten that out the way, we can continue. Do you think jobs should turn you down if you dropped out of high school? Here's my viewpoint on this. High school is a required asset of life from like 4 - 17(age) and you do learn a lot from those years but you can learn just as much if not more if you take 2 years out your life and study the subjects by yourself on your personal computer at home. I don't think jobs should deny you the right to work just because you dropped out because how can you justify that they're unable to do the work required for the position. I say, give them a chance and let them prove it to you that you can do it without judging them. Maybe they had a hard time in their life and they were unable to complete school. It happens everywhere in the world. Please post your thoughts on this.

No I don't think so, someone could be very intelligent and know there stuff even if they were a drop out. I'm pretty sure Bill Gates dropped out of school and wow just look at him... I know it's probably smarter to stay in school though but it shouldn't matter an awful lot.

Well I see what your dating an all that but most jobs have competitors for the job and most likely look at stuff like experience and qualifications. And no I do not believe that they should be able to turn you down because you dropped out of high school but that's just the way the world works it's a b*tch

What they should do is for the people who dropped out, give them a written test. Have them turn it in to the place you're trying to apply for and if they pass, they can work there.

Dropping out doesn't give a good impression that's all. Any employer would prefer to hire someone who has finished school to the end than someone that has left because it makes them instantly seem like they don't care, can't be bothered and are lazy.

Yea but it's possible for business A to have drop outs and could be just as successful as business B without drop outs. To be honest, it's really unfair. Their should be a law to issue a test to the drop out at least.

I disagree. I think it's fair. It's people's decisions if they decide to drop out for whatever reason. Just finish school, it's not complicated.

I think it's unfair for someone who dropped out of school to get a job over someone who has finished school and worked hard to get good grades.

So if someone's mom was a drug addict and with no father and was living really poor and had to drop out to help his mother pay rent, you think it's unfair still? Put yourself in their situation man. It's hard.
