i agree i have tried 8 but its not so great. anddd if you look online there is special gauged wire ecentially for subs but dont go with best buy stuff although some of it may be good suck to your local audio shops even if its expensive trust me its worth it!

Uh I think you should worry about buying a better sub lol....no hate, its just alpine is overpriced and not that good you would be better off getting a kicker crv 12' or 15' or a kicker l7 12' or 15' and getting either a pioneer amp or hifonics amp and on the wiring just get the top of the line because there is no point on skimping on wires when your gonna spend $700+ on all of the other components

Yeah listen to him, he knows what he is saying, but mauybe not a 15" unless your only getting 1 because unless you have a SUV your car will be plenty enough with even 1 12".

that setup isnt even over 300 dollars. most alpines arent good but type rs are known for being cheap and putting out a good thump and lasting a long time. most of my friends are running type rs and they put 1000rms out on them, above the suggested level, and they dont blow.

4 guage would be the best but you will have no probs with 8. I have been installing car audio for over 10 years. hit me up if you need help
kid you have no idea what your talking about kid. You obviously have never had anything in your own car if you even have one.

^ hahaha.
My 08 chevy cobalt ss has 1 factory pioneer sub. Car doesn't need much more than 1(if u got a 2door). My mirrors shake and i barely got it over half. I'm a fan of kenwoods myself, them or obviously kickers. 12" unless u got an SUV(agree with Monster) u can go higher. There is no point in getting alpines. they r not worth paying for.
