So explain to me what happens when a species has changed so much to fit its changing environment that it looks nothing like it did 1 million years previously?

There is nothing to explain? That is the sum of Evolution.
Look at the cell phone, for example, It looks nothing like the old models. However, at its core it is still a cell phone. Same goes for your example, genetically it is till the same thing.

Wait, what?

No. It's not at all like that. If a group from a species changes so much to fit its environment that it looks nothing like the rest of the species and can no longer interbreed with it, it is considered a new species.

If so.. Why datum do we still obtain bacon so easy. They haven't evolved lol

But for real. If evo was occurring, why don't we see it today

We do. The idea that we don't is a myth made up by creationists to spread 'disinfo.'

That is a species adapting to its environmental changes so it can survive in it

You... you don't even know what evolution is do you? Evolution is a majority natural selection, ie. a species adapting to it's environment.

For example, in Florida, cockroaches are losing their craving for sweet foods, want to know why? because roach poison uses sweet food. A few roaches happened to mutate during transcription of the mRNA in their cells and now sweet tastes like bitter. So they no longer eat the poison and thus we have roaches who are no longer impacted by normal roach poison. This new trait will soon spread through roach populations (the ones that don't eat the poison don't die) and soon we will have only sweet-hating roaches considering that the natural selection pressure is stronger on the sweet-loving roaches. mmk?

I'm an ecology, evolution, and natural resources major, this is my life, at least understand the concept before doubting it.

ProJimmyRustler wrote Seeing as the OP deleted his recent post, I'll just come out and say this.

You can't argue the facts of Evolution with a story book. Religion in my eyes has no place in our modern society. It holds us back from achieving in science. I has cause every major war/conflict.

I don't normally shoot for the kill, but based of the voice you used in the OP you are too ignorant to see past your own side.

Like, have you ever actually read the bible? I have, its ridiculous. Many of the things you are doing right now are "considered against" the bible. Your post was almost on Westboro Baptist Church level. You can't come out of the gate saying that your side is right if you have NO PROOF WHAT SO EVER that it is correct.

The two segments that I have bolded out, I have to say I disagree with. As for science being held back due to religion, I don't see a connection. Religion and general science can coexist together with no conflicts. I hope you do realize that "science" is broader than just "evolution", "creation of the universe", etc. Science also includes the development of medicine, how nature functions, etc. So your claim is incorrect. Now onto the subject of religions starting wars. I absolutely hate when people say this. It's ignorant. People cause wars. Normally religions are peaceful and such. It always starts with the extremists who think their religion is right and all others are wrong. The source of war is not through the religion itself, but rather in the people of the religion.

I take your point about science not being affected hugely, but Religion does affect science. Just look at Stem Cell research and how hugely impeded that has been. Who knows what we would be able to do medically if that research had been unobstructed.

The war thing I agree with, maybe not for the same reasons though. I simply cite this small piece of information when anyone brings it up:

"Philip and Axelrods three-volume Encyclopedia of Wars chronicles some 1,763 wars that have been waged over the course of human history. Of those wars, the authors categorize 123 as being religious in nature, which is an astonishingly low 6.98% of all wars."

Stem cell research isnt at all affected by solely religion. It's also affected by the ethics of doctors, such as "When does life really start". Are we allowed to take stem cells from embryos? Or is it considered taking part of what belongs to the baby? This has nothing to do with religion.

I also like what you said about the wars. I'll have to start using that ;)

Questions like "When does life really start?" and the ethics of doctors is heavily influenced by Religion.

Not only are his ideas very contradictory, he has a fundamentally flawed view on science. Nothing is ever proved in science. He strongly focuses on the dictionary definitions of the words but lacks the basic understanding of how research is even carried out.

I could delve into the individual flaws in his logic flow, but as it's late I will only mention a few.

No fossil record
We have amassed a vast array of fossils in the past 150 years that are supportive of evolution.

Carbon 14
I really can't be bothered to argue with this point as it arises so often with these sceptics.

I would love to see where he is finding these statistics, as they're clearly not from any reliable source within any research sector.

Entropy
All organisms take in external energy.. I pity him for uses this to support his argument.

Not really. It has some influences, but it's not heavily influenced. So would all atheists be considered pro abortion? Because apparently atheists don't have a problem with the ethics of doctors and such. I'm just trying to understand the point you're trying to make. If you claim that the ethics of doctors is heavily influenced by religion, then it is safe to come to the conclusion that around 99% of atheists are pro abortion. Abortion is just an example. Let's not get completely side-tracked and start talking about abortion, since that is a completely irrelevant discussion to the current matter.

I don't see what you're getting at? What's wrong with saying that he is sure that we were created by God?
