Promote their stresser?
Highly doubt that. They just want to get known and seen. DDos'ing is something anybody can do, literally a kid can go head and get his parents to pay for a monthly or yearly subscription on a stresser and call themselves a Lizard or Hacker. Makes me laugh and annoyed.
And if they really wanted to show billion dollar companies holes in their protection systems, why not email them or try contacting them for crying out loud, with all the detail. How are they post to find out the problem if you keep booting them offline.
Lizard squad is truly annoying. And I think this is going to turn into an anonymous thing to be honest. Every kid will want to join the Lizard Squad. Give me a break.

If people talk about them they will carry on. If people didn't talk about them and didn't get all this media attention they would have nothing.

They only do it to get popular/followers on Twitter. That is it. I hate how people whine and cry over Xbox being down a night.

Have no fear, they won't be around forever. Like all organizations they will fracture from within. From the outside it seems that they are all "The world is OURS and everything is cool", but I assure you from the inside they are all "Game of Thrones". Before you ask, no, I don't have any inside knowledge on them, but I do know what happens when people get together on a "Shared Product". Jealousy, contempt and paranoia will always be present in that type of group. It will always boil down to two things - Money and Recognition.
Money - Is it shared? Who controls it? Did they all give equal work in designing their service? Who feels that they aren't getting their fair share of the profits from what they believe is mostly their work?
Recognition - Are twitter names/Alias all that they want? Do they have plans to get their own names out there? Who will take credit for what has happened. It is inherently human to want recognition for the work that you do. How long do you think that it will last until someone spills the beans and takes credit. How long after that will someone else discredit that person and try to take credit themselves?
Once the Money and Recognition Monsters raises their ugly heads you will see splintering within the group and then all Hell will break loose.
Who knows, they could have already ticked off the wrong person/organization and will wake up some day soon with a pillow being pushed over their head and the last thing they hear is a POP. One can only hope.

They aren't pointing out a flaw though thats the part you're missing. They're broot forcing a "stress test" IE a DDoS upon microsoft. They're using a powerful botnet(s) and they will succeed until captured. Many big companies that are very secure will just shut down the servers if they suspect a DDoS since surprisingly, it is cost effective.
If you want to know about an actual group that did find flaws, look up LulzSec. Lizard Squad are like a school yard bully vs The Great Khali, no contest, one team are using a simple program and another are very smart individuals.

Anonymous would not attack Lizard Squad unless Lizard squad did something to interfere with their operations,
Like how Lizard Squad tried DDoSing Tor Network, Anonymous basically just put them aside and sat them down.

Doesn't it seem a little Odd that after the Christmas DDoS of XBL and PSN they started to link their stresser on twitter?
They were promoting it for sure.

Anyone remember what happened to Lulzsec? I believe the same situation will happen to Lizard Squad if one of them was caught.

You might be right on the Promote then. Cause I don't follow them on Twitter. But I doubt they would keep their stresser up for a long time. They probably needed to make some quick cash. And probably all the kids gave them what they want.
And what I was trying to point out with the Anonymous thing. I hear people say they want to be in Anonymous... A little tooo much. And it is starting to look like Lizard Squad is getting the same thing. (Example: Fake accounts / FinestSquad / DDos'ing squads period)
