I recently watched a video titled "Why I Hate School But Love Education" from a well-known speaker on YouTube. The video presents in a interesting and professional matter how school doesn't create success, but rather education does.
I recommend everybody takes the time to watch the video. Please comment your thoughts.

I graduated high school in 2013. After I got back from the graduation ceremony, it hit me. I worked my ass off for 12 miserable years just for a piece of fkn paper with my name on it. In this economy (at least where I live) to get a job it's more of who you know than what you know. In my opinion, locking people down in a building for 7 hours a day, 5 days a week, and 180 days a year is not the way to teach people anything.

I love to learn, except in school we learn the wrong things. And i agree with the user above. In the business world which i am trying to enter, it is all about who you know and what you know.

Both are important.
Education gives you the foundation of knowledge and what has been learned before you and what people expect.
School teaches you about what is about to hit you.
Social skills being the main one.

Same here. I love to expand my knowledge but some things we learn in school are ineffective.

Some things being the main point there, you may never use those things but someone else might.

I hated school because I was like any other teenager going through that period of time.
I'm not attending college and it's so much different and WAY better than going to high school.
The video was nice by the way. Thank you for sharing.

In my opinion school doesn't matter, yes it gives you better social skills and prepares your for your future but I am in school now and we learn the most pointless things such as Religious Education, yes it means a lot to some people but it should be an option, for me it isn't it will have no affect to what I am aiming for. All they care about is our uniform, if we had a tiny bit of white or no blazer on when it's 20-30 degrees they'd kick off sometimes expel you. There pathetic.

I wish they would teach you about things you want to learn, rather than useless information that some will never use. For example, if your job is to be in Congress, or some type of politician, they shouldn't make you take these science and math classes that feed you useless knowledge that you will never use. But if you want to be an engineer or in the medical field, you should be able to focus more on Math and Sciences, rather than political classes. But everyone is still required to have some minimum class requirement. For example, the politician will still need to take some math and science classes to make him/her more educated, but not to the point such as Trig or Calculus.
As with every suggestion, however, there are some problems. Many people end up changing their career multiple times through middle-highschool and even college, so someone who wants to be a doctor might not be interested in it by time they get to college, which would put all their time in those math and science classes to no use.
