I Would Go with the i5 or i7 since XEONs in my opinion should stay in servers

i5 4690k.....I love it..I may in the future upgrade to a i7 but I dont see no reason to

I agree with Kurt... Xenon's should stay in servers, they aren't designed for gaming

i5 if you will overclock, E3 if you will not and can use Hyperthreading. You also save money on the board with the E3 since you don't need overclocking support or an aftermarket cooler.
It's the same CPU with slightly different features that don't necessarily have anything to do with servers. Your thinking is just wrong.

Lol'd at "Xeon's should stay in servers". For editing, the Xeon E3-1231 V3 I suggested is going to out-perform the 4690k. Since you won't even be getting an aftermarket cooler if you're not getting the 4690k, you're not going to be overclocking it so it's a waste.
