first off, i would recommend asking this question on the [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] forum as they will give you the best advice.

As for mileage, depending on how well maintained the car is I wouldnt go any higher than 86,000 miles.

Being america, you guys will get USDM subaru's, so bare that in mind when looking. As a nice JDM model will be pricey to maintain due to the difference in parts.

Also, they do have a lot of power if you get a version 7/8/9+ The earlier ones require a lot of work to get them on the same level.

First off you won't find a Subaru WRX or an STi unless it is either beat to shit, and or near brand new with 20k miles on it and they still want retail value. Second off, the STi is a shitty daily driver and i would recommend the WRX. Thirdly, don't get a subaru, get an Evo. Everyone and their brothers has a Subaru. fourthly, get a 2004 or an '05. Best years they had. Lastly, if you're getting a STi, a decent one would be around 13k. And that is pushing the barrier into garbage.

Oh also, don't throw on a garbage exaust and don't be the driver that goes to car meets that can't explain why horsepower at the crank isn't the same to the wheels, or why a twin turbo isn't actually twin turbo, or the guy who does donuts, or the guy who drives like a ricer which includes doing horrible clutch dumps down the street acting like a professional rally racer LMAO.

PS. Evo > 335i = subaru

P.P.S get the Wagon. It's the exact same except more trunk room, and cops don't see it the same as the sedan.

under 110k miles is good for a starter. And honestly if you're REALLY in to cars, get something you can learn off of. Dont get a car with too complex of an engine bay(compact or you have to take the engine out to replace a part)

You're probably going to spend around 20k for a good sti depending on the year you get. I'd go for under 115k for a subaru.

seeing how your ballin on a budget none of these options are for you.

look under the 10k range seeing how your ballin on a budget, im sorry if you got 20k to drop on an sti your not on a budget your dreaming

the subbie engine is a finicky lil bia so unless you have money to keep dumping in it (which sounds like you dont ) i would recommend the evo its a straight forward 4cyl much easier to maintain and work on yourself (still to pricey if ballin on a budget imo)

good luck hope this helps some and i dont want to crush dreams but you cant own any of these on a budget and keep them up and running good.
