Do you really need the 16GB of ram?

U do not need to spend all that money on 16gb of ram u only need 8gb stick

I used to think Ram wasn't really that big of a deal for gaming it was more for multitasking however I read something recently saying it did bump up something in the game I don't really remember. I was just trying future proof the computer as much as I could. In terms of Ram for gaming is the gpu ram more important?

There's no such thing as future proofing a rig. 8GB RAM is more than enough for gaming. 8GB RAM is still perfectly fine for "multitasking". The higher the GPU's VRAM, the better it's going to perform on larger resolutions(typically) and games like Skyrim with a shit ton of mods will benefit from extra VRAM but for 1080p, a card with 2GB, or even 1GB VRAM is still going to be fine. So, in terms of the VRAM, it depends on what resolution monitor you're using and how many, as well as what games you'll be playing. I personally wouldn't pay that much for a PSU, but it is a good PSU. You could however, pay $50 less for a nice EVGA G2 unit, which is what I'd do. If you're only gaming, a 4690k would be more than fine, no need for the i7 for gaming. Also, if you're dropping $1400 on a rig, I'd expect to see an SSD in there. Kraken X61 is a fantastic cooler. I wouldn't be putting an S340 in such an expensive rig. I'd be getting an H440 or Define R5. You also on't have to pay so much for a mobo.

1000W? It's a good unit, but why 1kw? He'll only be able to run 2x 970's in SLI and 750W would be perfectly fine for SLI 970's and a 4790k, with everything else as well.

I would most definately go with the Define R5 over the H440, due to it's minimalistic design, and (imo) better sound reduction. Maybe consider Enermax's Liqtech 240 AIO Watercooler which can be put at the top of the case.

The 1000w G2 is only $5 more expensive than the 750W so I thought why not.
