So ive had the controller from brand new and its probably about 6-8 months old and all of a sudden the right analog stick suddenly decides the constantly drift, this is a real issue as i mostly play fps shooters and its unbearable to play with. Ive taken the controller apart and nothing is loose at all! Any suggestions or links or how to fix this please!!?

Mine did the same thing. It started out not being bad at all and actually bearable. IT progressively got worse and it always drifted up. I got into one of the live chats with Microsoft. The guy was really nice and set me up so I could return my controller.

Sadly, it takes about 2 weeks for the whole process of sending it and getting it back. Luckily, my brother had an extra that I could use while I didn't have mine. All you have to do is contact Microsoft. Do I live chat, not call. You never know what you're going to get when calling. At least you can understand what the person is typing.

There is a way to fix this.

Opening the controller is really easy just pop the back caps off, and use a really small flat head to open the security torx screws. Basically if u have a small enough flat head it should fit between the middle security bump and one of the ridges in the torx. Once opened remove the analog sticks. The drift is not something that concerns the analog module attached to the controller board, rather its the analog stick itself that does not fit properly on the pin from the module. I used a really small piece of electrical tape and wrapped it around the hole of the analog stick so as to make it really tight when putting it back on to the pin. The other way would be to use super glue, but i decided against it because some times u may put too much and the stick may get stuck in an awkward position. But yeah the problem has not really come back after using my method so hopefully this helps.
