So, I recently posted about my 04 Rx8. Well, after posting that and talking to my dad, he decided to buy it from me for $8k. I decided I wanted to have a nice car and that I wouldn't drive it like a maniac. Go ahead and get me my first real expensive car. I had $10k saved up for an new car anyway. Now, I thought about it. I could buy a decent used car for $18k. But then I thought, I have a steady job that pays amazingly (12$/hr) and my housing is covered by BAH. So, I decided to put down money on a new car. I decided to buy a 2015 Corvette Stingray. I looked to order online, and overall the cost ran over 70k to get to the nearest Chevrolet dealership. I knew better, so I looked around my state and found a red one for sale for 54k with only 146miles on it. Sadly its an automatic, but I really don't care at this point. I put down my money today, and they said sometime in the next two weeks I'll be able to drive it home. Sadly that day wasn't today . I put 16.5k down and the rest for taxes and whatnot.

The only thing that really upset me was I couldn't even drive it yet. They originally told me in my contact email to them that once I put the money down I could test drive it a couple blocks. But once I got there, filled out paperwork, put the money down, and all the other jazz, they told me that the car was not available to test drive until Thursday. Not too big a deal, I took my buddies stingray for a spin a while back so I know it drives like a beauty.
Just sucks I couldnt drive this one.

Now, I know some of you aren't going to believe me. Fine. I get that. I'll post more pictures when I go back to take it home, or Thursday if I decide to go back for the test drive. I'll also upload a YouTube video of a walk around, exhaust. Etc. Take it easy guys.

Total cost: $58,471.05

It is nice, but I wouldn't risk the debt.

Just saying.. 12/hr is not amazingly good and honestly you are just putting yourself into a lifetime supply of DEBT..

Have fun paying the insurance for that thing every month.

Not worth it at all, especially with the small amount you're making.

Sadly not my first haha. But it is the second car I've paid for and owned.

Wasn't the best idea especially if you're making $12/h. If you wanted a nice car and considering you want speed you should've bought an Audi S5. It's still expensive but you won't be paying as much on insurance. Just my opinion.

I understand the debt concerns. Granted, I live in a $1100 apartment with my fiancee. BAH covers that. I also have a monthly allowance for food, clothing, etc. And the cost of living is generally lower where I live than most states. Also, my grandmother is reaching her older days and is getting married to a guy who used to do finances for the state, and he's loaded. She's moving in with him and selling her property. (Worth about 300-400k total. She planted tons of pine which is worth bank when it fully grows and you sell the wood). She agreed to pay half of my car loan when she sells it. Should be October or so maybe when she sells it. So I am not worried about debt.

You still have to worry about the other half. Always have multiple supplies of income.

Well, it seems you've got everything thought out and well under control.

Hopefully all goes well and you'll have a nice hot-rod to drive around your community.

The hate is flowing! Nice car man I love corvettes. I personally like the older model stingrays but regardless beautiful car man. My boss collects corvettes and lets me drive them from time to time. Good investment, how old are you if you dont mind me asking. My boss is in his late 40's and only pays 35$ a month for the corvette he drives. The other two are track cars Also if his house is covered why isnt 12 decent? Think about it. He saving probably 1-2k a month without having to pay his house etc. Anyways. Good job.
