Cheated wroteWeAreInfantry wrote So, I recently posted about my 04 Rx8. Well, after posting that and talking to my dad, he decided to buy it from me for $8k. I decided I wanted to have a nice car and that I wouldn't drive it like a maniac. Go ahead and get me my first real expensive car. I had $10k saved up for an new car anyway. Now, I thought about it. I could buy a decent used car for $18k. But then I thought, I have a steady job that pays amazingly (12$/hr) and my housing is covered by BAH. So, I decided to put down money on a new car. I decided to buy a 2015 Corvette Stingray. I looked to order online, and overall the cost ran over 70k to get to the nearest Chevrolet dealership. I knew better, so I looked around my state and found a red one for sale for 54k with only 146miles on it. Sadly its an automatic, but I really don't care at this point. I put down my money today, and they said sometime in the next two weeks I'll be able to drive it home. Sadly that day wasn't today . I put 16.5k down and the rest for taxes and whatnot.

The only thing that really upset me was I couldn't even drive it yet. They originally told me in my contact email to them that once I put the money down I could test drive it a couple blocks. But once I got there, filled out paperwork, put the money down, and all the other jazz, they told me that the car was not available to test drive until Thursday. Not too big a deal, I took my buddies stingray for a spin a while back so I know it drives like a beauty.
Just sucks I couldnt drive this one.
Now, I know some of you aren't going to believe me. Fine. I get that. I'll post more pictures when I go back to take it home, or Thursday if I decide to go back for the test drive. I'll also upload a YouTube video of a walk around, exhaust. Etc. Take it easy guys.
Total cost: $58,471.05
are you sure daddy didn't buy this
Since my dad lives in a other state and spent damnear all of his money on my rx8 and the money to get here and back. Yeah, I'm sure.

You are going to be paying that car off for like 10 years at that rate. Just saying.
Your salary isn't really enough as it is to buy a 50,000$ car, but I guess thats your choice.
You are going to have that stress on your hands for a long time now.
I wouldn't buy a car like this unless I had salary of around 200,000$/year. The insurance costs and the price of gas for this car are going to put you in a hole, as well as paying for the car itself.
Also maintenance on these cars are a lot more expensive as the parts will cost you twice as much than a regular car.
Im thinking of buying a nice car like this if I get drafted this year which will put my salary at around 300k/year.
Good luck with everything bud.

Dang. You should have gotten a Challenger Hellcat, like your wife wants just not the Charger version. With 707 stock horsepower from the factory. Pretty sure it beats the Vette. Specs and speed are better anyways. Do some research, I'm not kidding.
IMO, I dont really like Vettes. Just never really been a fan of them just because theyre everywhere.
But either way, good job. Keep up on those payments.

You know all the Hellcats were recalled because of potential fuel leaks?

$12/hr isn't anything and you have to think about the future. It will probably take you 5-7 years to pay that thing off and what if something happens to your housing. It's an amazing car but you should of been a little smarter. I have a friend who got a brand new brz and now he his broke doesn't even get to enjoy his money because everything goes to car gas and insurance.

And that means...? Nothing at all. The 2015 stingray was recalled in September too, so.
Doesn't erase the fact that the Hellcat is a more powerful car

Why? Because that piece-of-crap BMW in your avatar is "superior to all American made PoS"?
