I to moved away from modding tools an when I was bored I just made tools that I would benefit from..

One of my favourites was completely redesigning and making my own Notepad tool.

I got bored of C# though and moved onto websites as ideas for tools are too difficult to think of.

I think it would be cool to make a program similar to Notepad++, something that highlights the syntax.

An open source program installer would be cool. Like something that allows users to make installers for their own programs and push updates through dropbox.

Perhaps an instant messaging app. I know many exist, but its something to make if you are board. I was in the process of adding it to my tool before my post for it got deleted..

A snapchat for PC would be cool. Really Really Cool. I'd be interested in helping with that. lol

A program that can mass create folders for your computer, so if you want to organize it you dont have to make ALL the folders.

You can make a program that lets you receive information about you PC, CPU, Ram stuff like that.

If you're finding the modding scene boring and own a jtag, why not try RTE w/ sockets in C#? If you don't own a jtag, then do something that's kinda challenging, like write a custom rehash and resign library. It may be re-inventing the wheel if you use C# but if you wrote one in Java or C++ (can just rip off Velocity) then that could have a massive impact on the modding community because then, theoretically, you could create online save game editors, online rehash and resigners, cross platform save game modding tools etc. etc.
