Hello TTG,

I working on building my first PC and I don't really know what I am doing. I have about a 900 USD budget to work with and some wiggle room. I am looking for a desktop that will be good at multitasking for college while still able to play games well. I'll be on to answer questions if anyone has them.

Here's what I made, don't know if it is any good.

but if you want a mixture of gaming aswell as heavy multitasking/photoshop anything really cpu heavy id go with a xeon cpu

Xeon is a line of Intel CPUs very good rep there meant more for editing than gaming but they can game aswell.
for the os either buy a cheap $20 cd drive or create a bootable usb with the windows.iso on it

There is no need for a disk drive. You can use a USB.

The Xeon I suggested is a 4 core, 8 thread CPU as opposed to the i5 being a 4 core, 4 thread CPU. The 4690k would be useful if you specifically wanted to OC but you'd have to invest in an aftermarket cooler as well to do so.

Save up for a good cooler.

You can get your OS for free and install via USB, which you should do anyway as it's much quicker. If you want, you can pick up an optical drive for like $10-$15 and pretty much any of them will be fine.
