Synopsis:

The Walking Dead is a five-part game series set in the same universe as Robert Kirkmans award-winning comic book series. Play as Lee Everett, a convicted criminal, who has been given a second chance at life in a world devastated by the undead. With corpses returning to life and survivors stopping at nothing to maintain their own safety, protecting an orphaned girl named Clementine may offer him redemption in a world gone to hell.

Story:

The zombie apocalypse is upon us and you must do what ever it takes to survive. As the game starts out you see Lee Everett in the back of a police car on his way to prison. But as luck will have it the police officer driving will stop paying attention to the road and will cause a accident and will send the police car off the road and once Lee wakes up you will have to free yourself and you will find yourself face to face with a zombie. As time goes on you will find yourself taking shelter at a near by home you meet Clementine as you two become good friends and begin their journey together in this new world.

Gameplay:

The Walking Dead game play style is very different from other games. Instead of actually controlling the character and fighting zombies all you get to do really is walk the character around and interact with objects and people. One thing I do really like about this game is how much your decisions you make for your character can impact the people around you in game. Even little decisions like who should eat first or something like deciding if you should cut someones leg off. Every decision you make for the character has a impact both positively and negatively on your character or the group. You must make wise choices or suffer the wrath of your group or worse. As you progress through the game you will meet other people who are trying to survive who you can team up with and try to survive together. Your ultimate goal though is to protect Clementine. She is the most important thing to Lee in this new world and it is his job to make sure she is safe. As time goes on you will meet very interesting people who you will need to decide if they are safe to be around or if maybe you should get away from them. Overall the game play itself is pretty interesting and can be really intense at times. Even with the game being like a interactive movie it still does a really good job of putting the player in the game and making you decide the fate of your group. Do not buy this game if you are looking for a zombie shooter because you will not find it here. This is more of a strategic role playing game were the player watches their actions and decisions unfold in this zombie Apocalypse world.

Graphics:

The Walking Dead has me pretty torn when it comes to the graphical side of the game. I think the graphics fit the game well and help the game really standout from the rest but at the same time I think they are kinda pathetic looking at parts during the game. When playing the game and moving the character around I never noticed any type of clipping or anything but just the way the graphics look don't appeal to me. I do like watching Lee or others killing zombies and think it does look pretty good but the game just does not feel real to me because of the graphics it is almost like watching a scary cartoon. But overall I do think they fit the game really well and do help the game standout. They are definitely something you do not see a lot of in game and for this it makes the game unique. Some people do like this style of graphics and just because I was not impressed does not mean the game is not worth getting because it is still for sure a game to check out and play if you can get the chance to.

Controls:

The controls for The Walking Dead are actually really interesting but really easy to learn and remember no matter how long it has been sense you last played. the controls are extremely basic but do really help you interact with the game really well. Sense most of the game is just clicking objects and other little things there is not much to the controls but they do work for the game pretty well. Overall the controls are easy to learn and remember and fit the game well. I found this game really relaxing at times because of the controls and that is something I did enjoy when playing. This games controls fit the game well and I do not think they need to be changed at all.

This game is pretty fun, still have to finish up Season 2. I hope they eventually release a third season. I'm not sure how season 2 ended so I'm not sure if a third season will be good or not though.

You're fine, since the game isn't really like the show. Pretty sure the video game is based off of the comic book.

Great review man, this game released on my birthday! This seems like a pretty fun zombie game and pays great homage to the show. Wonder if it's still worth getting though.
