I agree driving standard is more fun and immersive, but I feel starting on auto is a smart move.
It's his first car, he's learning to drive and getting used to everything, one less thing to focus on while driving isn't bad.

i actualy own a v6 now it had a 5.4 engine i swapped in it so its a great started car you can make it into anything you want with a little effort and money



Edit:for trolls if any i swaped the 4.0 stock s197 engine for a 5.4 and swapped my rear end for a 8.5 rear end instead of that weak 4.0 rear end cant take the power also a bunch of upgrades here and there with brembo brakes just take my car serious only 18 got my 07 v6 when i was 16 and been pourinf money into it but your v6 has pony package so you would be able to swap grill n foglights without an issue like mine without the stock fogs

If you take this car to my country it is worth a shit ton of money + burning you money goes slower than spending it on the insurance.
Here almost every 18 year old is driving a 500-2500 (euro) car 10 year old car or something.
