Monster-Munch wrote They will most probably want them for scrap but that's cool if you have a ps2 as it's easy money u can get to put towards a game for next gen or something.

Rumor going around is that the PS2's are going to go to a third party for resale.

Yeah I understand that but I don't get what a 3rd party would do with them they arnt worth anything anymore and I don't understand why gamestop is giving so much for them but I hope they give more info so we can see why as it would be intresting.

Most likely refurbish and re-sell them.

Why would you wanna sell your PS2? If you're a true gamer you'd keep it.

The PS2 was a masterpiece. I bought a slim one about 6 months ago with a Free McBoot memory card to play "my game backups", best investment of $60 I ever used.

I'm very surprised on this. That system died off ages ago.

Can you still buy PS2 games at GameStop?

I heard you couldn't anymore...

If you can, it is at very limited stock. My local one only had 4 PS2 Games left a few months ago and they have had them around for ages, and they were marked at 75% off! Nothing too good in the pile of games there, though.

Too bad i'm UK, no gamestop here. I have like 3 PS2s easy 75$

There should be some other local game stores around you, like Mom and Pop shops. If you are able to trade-in your PS2's at your local game store, you should get right around that amount.
