I am 17 years old and work at Steak n' Shake.
I am given a schedule every week with the time I am to come in and go off.
Also, company policy is a break every time you are scheduled for 5 or more hours.
For the past month now I have been held over an additional hour to and hour in a half.
I am scheduled for 4pm and don't leave till 9:30pm with no break on school days.
This is effecting* both my personal and educational life.
I have asked about this and they just tell me to get back to work or that I am making excuses.
I do not depend on this job for anything except extra spending money.
Should I quit?

What state do you live in? I know in New Jersey, any minor (anyone under 18) MUST be given a 30 minute meal break after working 5 hours. If I were you I would check into your state's child labor laws. If the company is breaking those laws, I would get in contact with the correct people.

You should call your local ACLU division and tell them this. You won't regret it.

Absolutely, Not worth it honestly. But if you like the money your making or you need that extra spending money I would just keep it.

You shouldn't be asking other people if you should quit your job. As yourself questions. Are you comfortable with your financial situation? If you need another job, can you get one? Is it really worth quitting? In my personal opinion you are completely stupid if you ask others on decisions like this.

If it is effecting your school work then I would say yes. Especially if you only have the job for extra cash.
You can always look and find other jobs out there.

Honestly this is just me but education comes before anything else and if you aren't able to study or anything like that just for some extra money it's not worth it, but that's just my opinion.

If you really think you should quit then do it. Simple as that.
