270x is newer than the HD7870 and slightly better. Pretty sure the 270 is just a re-branded 7870 though.

so theres not some huge difference? if the 2870 is still good i would like to get it cause its cheaper

No. 270x is pretty much an overclocked 270, so you could overclock a 7870 to perform about on par with a stock clocked 270x most likely. I'd opt for the 270/270x since it's newer, but up to you.

Are you upgrading your or building one?
If your mid-build and just trying to get it running I would get the cheaper one just to help save a couple bucks and to get your PC up and running
But if you're upgrading I would spend the little bit more money. It will probably save you from wanting to upgrade in the near future, where as if you get the older one you will always think your computer is sub-par without the 270x
