Hey guys,

So I'm new to the GTA 5 online experience. I went in and played my first free roam game and I found myself wandering around aimlessly. What exactly am I supposed to do? I understand that the free roam aspect is important, but how do I level up, get money, guns etc..
Also, is there anything I can do about being killed? I spent a solid 30 minutes getting repeatedly killed by people in tanks etc.. blowing up my car and killing me constantly. What can i do about it? its the same in team death matches.

You can play jobs to get money and level up. You press start, go to Online, go to jobs, and go from there. I suggest just going to quick job. As far as people killing you, I suggest playing in an invite only game with friends.

Or the other completely noobish option of going into passive mode but while in this mode you yourself can not attack anyone I suggest doing quick jobs until you reach around level 12 and then join into the heists action to gain some big cash

Unfortunately I have no active xbox friends anymore how do I go about setting up heists?

You will need to get to level 12 and get a high end apartment to setup your own heist. Your best bet for money and RP is to join other peoples heists and do those for a while until you get enough cash to buy yourself a high end apartment.

Search Around this forum, there will be some people doing heists and needed people to join so have a look around for easy ones

I have a couple tips. Play lots of Survivals and Deathmatches because you can keep the weapons you pick up in the game. You're going to spend a lot of money buying ammo and weapons so this will help you a bit. When you've collected enough weapons/ammo grind out some missions. I've done this with every one of my new characters and I can get roughly up to 100k everyday.

As for Heist, you need a High End Apartment to host one. You'll get spammed with invites to do Heists on your phone so you're bound to get in a lobby.
